Riverio

Terms and Conditions

Effective date: June 28, 2026

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Riverio iOS app and related services ("Riverio", the "App", or the "Service"). Riverio is operated by Think Aloud Design s.r.o. ("we", "us", or "our").

By using Riverio, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

What Riverio Does

Riverio helps users browse river stations, view water measurements, follow favorite stations, save preferred water ranges and notes, and receive optional station alerts.

Riverio collects, processes, organizes, and displays hydrological, weather, station, map, and related material from public and third-party sources. This material may include river names, station metadata, water level, flow, temperature, timestamps, weather conditions, and related measurements.

Informational Use Only

Riverio is provided for general informational and personal planning purposes only. It is not an emergency, flood warning, rescue, navigation, engineering, hydrological, legal, or safety-critical service.

You should not rely on Riverio as your only source for decisions involving safety, property, travel, boating, fishing, paddling, flood risk, emergency response, or other high-risk activities. Always verify important conditions with official sources, local authorities, and real-world observations.

Data Accuracy and Availability

Riverio depends on public and third-party data sources, backend services, device connectivity, and platform services. Data may be delayed, incomplete, unavailable, inaccurate, mislabeled, or changed without notice.

We do not guarantee:

  • That any river, station, weather, or measurement data is accurate, complete, or current.
  • That alerts will be delivered at a specific time or delivered at all.
  • That the App will be available without interruption or error.
  • That public or third-party data sources will remain available.

Accounts

Some Riverio features may require an account, including cloud sync and station alert features. You are responsible for maintaining access to your account and for activity that occurs through it.

You may delete your account from within the App. Account deletion removes synced Riverio account data associated with your account, subject to retention required for security, legal, or operational reasons.

User Content

Riverio may let you save notes, preferences, favorites, preferred water ranges, and alert rules ("User Content"). You are responsible for your User Content and for ensuring that it is lawful and appropriate.

You grant us a limited right to process User Content only as needed to provide, sync, secure, support, and operate Riverio.

Do not submit content that is unlawful, harmful, abusive, misleading, infringing, or that contains sensitive personal information you do not want stored in the App.

Notifications and Alerts

Riverio may offer optional notifications and alerts. Alerts are based on available data and your settings. They may fail, arrive late, repeat, or be based on delayed or inaccurate measurements.

You are responsible for configuring alerts appropriately and for independently verifying important conditions. Riverio alerts are not official warnings and are not a substitute for government, emergency, or local authority notices.

Location and Permissions

Riverio may request optional iOS permissions, such as location access to center the map and notification permission to send alerts. You can manage permissions in iOS Settings.

If you deny a permission, some features may not work, but core browsing features may still be available where technically possible.

Third-Party Services and Sources

Riverio uses third-party and platform services, including backend, authentication, push notification, map, weather, and public data services. These services may be subject to their own terms, availability, and privacy practices.

We are not responsible for third-party services, public data sources, or external content.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use Riverio for unlawful, harmful, abusive, or fraudulent purposes.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the App, backend, data sources, or related infrastructure.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, overload, or bypass security controls except where allowed by law.
  • Misrepresent Riverio data as official warnings or official hydrological advice.
  • Use Riverio in a way that violates third-party rights or applicable laws.

Intellectual Property

Riverio, including its design, software, interface, branding, and original content, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Public and third-party river, weather, station, and measurement material remains subject to the rights and terms of the relevant source providers.

These Terms do not transfer ownership of Riverio or any source material to you. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, lawful purposes in accordance with these Terms.

App Store Terms

If you downloaded Riverio from the Apple App Store, your use of the App is also subject to Apple's applicable terms. Apple is not responsible for Riverio, its content, support, claims, or maintenance, except as required by applicable law.

Changes to the App

We may update, change, suspend, or discontinue any part of Riverio at any time. We may also change supported regions, data sources, features, or account requirements.

Disclaimer of Warranties

Riverio is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of accuracy, availability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, property, goodwill, or business opportunities arising from your use of Riverio.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for claims relating to Riverio will be limited to the amount you paid to use the App in the twelve months before the claim, or EUR 50, whichever is greater.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising from your misuse of Riverio, violation of these Terms, violation of law, or infringement of third-party rights.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to Riverio if you violate these Terms, create risk for the App or other users, or if continued service is no longer practical or lawful.

You may stop using Riverio at any time and may delete your account from within the App where account features are available.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless consumer protection laws in your place of residence require otherwise.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and may provide additional notice where appropriate.

Your continued use of Riverio after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
